The Governing Body

The governors have the responsibility for overseeing the management and organisation of the school.

These include:

  • set the ethos and aims of the school
  • ensure that the school meets all its safeguarding obligations
  • set and approve the curriculum for the school
  • set and approve the annual budget
  • consider admissions
  • consider appeals against exclusions
  • set and approve a range of policies for the school
  • maintain discipline for both pupils and staff
  • hire and fire staff
  • monitor the performance of the Head Teacher
  • monitor teacher appraisal and support staff performance management
  • monitor the residential provision
