Holly House School

Adverse Weather snow

In the event of disruption caused by heavy snow, flooding or other adverse weather conditions, the prime concern of the school will always be the safety of our pupils and staff. The decision to close the school will take account of the safety of all our pupils, staff and visitors.

As many pupils travel considerable distances by taxi their safe return home from school will be considered when making a decision to close or partially close the school.  This decision reflects the recent challenges in safely returning pupils home following the Chesterfield flooding in October 2023.

If the school has to be closed, a text message will be sent out to all parents as soon as the decision has been made.

Closure will also be communicated by our website and through our official social media pages

Please assume school is open if you have not received a text or the school website/ social media does not announce otherwise.

Further details can be read in the adverse weather plan Adverse Weather Plan
