Holly House School

Welcome from the Head of Residential

                                         Cheryl Gray

                                 Head of Residential Care

Welcome to Holly House School’s Residential Unit.

Our provision is a unique and valued part of the Local Authority offer, built on the principles of the 3 R’s highlighted in the Head Teacher’s welcome. As the new Head of Care, I am proud to lead a dedicated residential team committed to providing a safe, nurturing and empowering environment for every young person who stays with us.
We are supported by a skilled team of five experienced professionals who offer consistent, relational care to the pupils who access our provision. Our practice is underpinned by the Five Ways to Wellbeing, helping young people build resilience, confidence, and strategies to navigate life’s challenges.
The residential team bring specialist training in mental health and a range of skills that enable them to support pupils through difficult moments, celebrate successes, and help young people move forward in positive and meaningful ways.
Our ethos, “Be the Best You Can Be,” sits at the heart of everything we do. We focus on developing strong, trusting relationships and encouraging pupils to recognise their strengths, build independence, and strive for success in all areas of life.
This ethos guides us in creating personalised care packages for pupils and their families, both within school and at home. These packages are designed and delivered by our trained staff, with the ultimate aim of preparing each young person for a successful transition, whether that is into mainstream education or a bespoke next step that meets their individual needs when they leave Holly House.
I am incredibly proud to lead this provision and to work alongside a team who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of the pupils we care for.
